Saskatoon teen faces four weapons-related charges after foot pursuit with police

A 15-year-old boy from Saskatoon is facing several charges after being reported carrying a gun.

At 7:40pm Sunday, officers were called to the area of 31st Street West and Avenue C North for a report of a teen carrying a gun.
Police say as they arrived, the suspect fled, and a foot pursuit between him, officers, and Canine Units.

In the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. During the pursuit, officers say the suspects disposed of a sawed-off rifle in a backyard garbage can. It was later recovered.

The teen faces four firearms related offences.
