To raise money for mental health organizations throughout the province, Cameco is hosting the 2023 Step Up for Mental Health Run tomorrow (sun).
Cameco Vice President Johnathan Huntington says mental health affects everyone in one way or another, and every dollar received from registration fees will go towards numerous charities and not-for-profits that assist with mental health.
Over 8,000 athletes will be running 5K, 10K, and the new 21.1K courses. They will begin their run at Prairieland Park this year and finish the race downtown along the river. This is the first time that the run will be a sanctioned road race with Saskatchewan Athletics, serving as the Saskatchewan Championships for all three distances.
Cameco partnered with several new organizations this year, including New Balance, FFUN Group, WBM, and Prairie Run Crew, an Indigenous-owned running outreach program. New swag was also designed for the 2023 edition of the run.
The 10K and 21.1K participants will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K participants at 9:30 a.m.
