Ten million dollars of upgrades and renovations have been completed at Holy Rosary High School in Lloydminster.
Friday at 10:00am, Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill and representatives from the Government of Alberta, the City of Lloydminster and the Lloydminster Catholic School Division gathered at the high school for a grand opening ceremony.
The school, which used to accommodate about 750 students, now has space for 1,200. The 2,100 square metres of expansions include a second storey addition, 16 new modernized classrooms, a resource centre and a practical and applied arts room. There is also a Dream Catcher Space for Cree language and indigenous culture studies, complete with independent ventilation for smudge and pipe ceremonies.
The Government of Saskatchewan invested $4.2 million into the $10 million project, while the Government of Alberta contributed $5.8 million.
