A 23-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon after he threatened to harm people inside a Saskatoon restaurant with a knife.

At 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to a restaurant in the 300 block of 21st Street East. The callers said that a man had entered the restaurant and began swinging a knife, threatening to hurt the people inside. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. No one was injured in the matter.
