As of 4:00am Monday morning, the number of active wildfires in the province dropped to 42, and only two of them are considered not contained.
Eight are contained, 20 are under ongoing assessment, and 12 are where the focus is to protect valuable property.
The fires of note are the Moore and the Reimer fires, both burning east of Buffalow Narrows. However, much of the smoke being experienced throughout the province is coming from Northern Alberta and the territories. Environment and Climate Change Canada urges anyone experiencing shortness of breath, wheezing, severe cough, dizziness or chest pains as a result of the smoke to stop outdoor activities and contact a health care provider.
