Saskatchewan’s unemployment rate has jumped 0.4 per cent to 5.1 per cent, and the Saskatchewan NDP are blaming Premier Scott Moe’s government.
Saskatchewan NDP Jobs and Economy Critic Aleana Young says Scott Moe continues to have the worst job creation record in the country. Statistics Canada job numbers for July show that the province lost 5,700 jobs between June and last month, 5,200 of them being full-time.
Young says no matter how many billboards the premier wants to put up, the numbers don’t lie. She says July is not an outlier, it is only part of a pattern where Saskatchewan has had the worst job creation record in Canada for five years. Canada’s national unemployment rate rose 0.1 per cent in July to 5.5.
