The wildfire count in Saskatchewan is up to 58, with five considered not contained. Thirty-five of the fires are under ongoing assessment, 10 are where the focus is to protect valuable property, and eight are contained. Eight Saskatchewan communities including Buffalo Narrows, Ile a la Crosse, La Ronge and Denare Beach have been evacuated so far this year. Fond Du Lac is the latest community to face a possible evacuation as a result of fire smoke. There have been 367 wildfires in the province so far this year, and 305 is the five-year average.
