A Little Pine First Nation man has been arrested and charged for driving a vehicle while under the influence causing death.
On Saturday at 4:34am, Cut Knife RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover at Centre Road on Little Pine First Nation in Saskatchewan. Officers, Litter Pine Security, the Cut Knife Fire Department, and local EMS arrived, and initial investigation determined a truck rolled over in the north ditch. Two occupants of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman from Little Pine First Nation were both declared deceased on the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Tyson Anthony Cardinal has been charged with two counts, Operation of a conveyance while impaired by alcohol causing death, and one count, Operation of a conveyance having blood alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding 80 mgs.
Cardinal was remanded in custody and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in North Battleford Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.
