Three separate collisions over the Canada Day long weekend has resulted in three fatalities in the province, according to Saskatchewan R-C-M-P.
On Friday, June 30, at about 10:30 p.m., a single-vehicle rollover on Fishing Lake First Nation resulted in a 52-year-old man from Fishing Lake First Nation, and sole occupant of the vehicle, being declared deceased at the scene.
Another single-vehicle incident on June 30 was a rollover on Canoe Road, south of Canoe Narrows. Beauval RCMP received the report at about 3:30 p.m. last Friday with a 27-year-old man from Beauval, the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, declared deceased at the scene.
The third incident occurred at about 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, on the Trans-Canada Highway near Chaplin. An investigation by Morse RCMP determined a vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a body of water. A 36-year-old man from Sherwood Park, Alberta, was pronounced deceased at the scene while an adult female passenger was transported by STARS to hospital with serious injuries.
In all three cases, families of the deceased have all been notified while the collisions remain under investigation, with Saskatchewan RCMP reconstructionists and the Saskatchewan Corners Service assisting.
