The man suspected of killing a one-year-old boy in a hit and run at George Gordon First Nation has been located and arrested.
Punnichy RCMP say they responded to a call at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday that a pickup truck had struck a one-year-old boy from the First Nation and then fled. The child was declared deceased at the scene.
Thirty-three-year-old Mervin Poorman from Kawacatoose First Nation was charged with one count, failure to stop after an accident resulting in death,
Yesterday evening he was located at a residence in Cold Lake, Alberta. Officers would like to thank the public for providing information which assisted with the investigation.
It is not yet known when Poorman will be returned to Saskatchewan or when his first court appearance is going to be.
