To show support for OUTSaskatoon’s various programming, United way Saskatoon has given them a one-time investment of $50,000.
OUTSaskatoon provides services such as counselling, Pride Home, community support, youth programs, and gender-based violence programming. Board Chair Melody Wood says this funding will be allocated to support and bolster each one of the organization’s programs.
Kurt Wintermute, Board Member for United Way Saskatoon, says United Way Saskatoon understands the importance of the services that OUTSaskatoon has to offer, as they are needed and valuable. He highlights Pride Home, a place where Two Spirit, transgender and queer youth can feel safe and comfortable, as one of the most impactful programs. United Way has given OUTSaskatoon over $1 million, and after Thursday’s investment, the total amount comes to $1.07 million.  United Way Saskatoon is also the first United Way in Canada to support services for the LGBTQ2S+ community.
