Saskatoon Police say a 65 year old Prince Albert Man is facing 11 counts of assault with a weapon in connection into an investigation into historical assaults with faith-based affiliations. In 2021 and 22, several reports were made to police with allegations of assault at a Saskatoon faith-based institution. The 65 year old turned himself in today and appears in court this afternoon (Thurs).
Students from the former Christian Centre Academy, now known as the Legacy Christian Academy, announced announced pursuing a$25 million class-action lawsuit last summer against some of the school’s staff members. Allegations of abuse include exorcism, solitary confinement and paddling.
