Monkeys, meerkats, and porcupine are among the animals that will be visible at the new Small Mammal House at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo.
The former ‘Children’s Zoo’ building saw both interior and exterior renovations last September, and the exhibit is opening for the first time on Saturday. Three new exhibits were added to the second floor, and on the main floor, the meerkats and porcupines gained a larger enclosure. The project cost was roughly $850,000; $600,000 of it which was from the Civic Buildings Comprehensive Maintenance reserve, and the remaining $250,000 was a contribution from the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation.
