A week-long construction project will affect people who frequent the Downtown Transit Terminal. Starting Monday, and expected to last through next Sunday, the terminal will be moved along 3rd Avenue from 23rd Street to 24th Street with minimal effects on transit service and schedules while rehabilitation work is performed on 23rd Street. The construction is intended to fix structural deficiencies of the road surface and missing sections of curb at the terminal.
Sidewalks on both sides of the existing terminal will stay open and the Transit Customer Service Centre will maintain regular hours of operation. For the week, the substitute terminal will have transit staff on hand to assist with wayfinding available to help locate transfers and buses. The project was scheduled for May so as to minimize the impact on Transit riders and residents.
