Some bad news well in advance of training camp for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in that receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker recently underwent a procedure to repair a torn labrum and may miss the first three months of the 2023 season.
The 24-year-old Canadian completed his second season with the Green and White, hauling in a career-high 68 passes for a team-best 960 yards. He was the Riders’ nominee for the Most Outstanding Canadian Award in 2022.

RIDERS ADD DEFENSIVE BACK JULIUS FAULK
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Julius Faulk.
Faulk (6’1-205) attended rookie camp with the Cleveland Browns following the 2022 NFL Draft. He played two collegiate seasons (2019-21) at Delta State University, seeing action in 21 games. The former Statesman tallied 68 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 10 interceptions, 29 pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He led the Gulf South Conference and NCAA Division II with a career high nine interceptions in 2019 en route to earning First-Team All-GSC honours. The Mississippi native also earned Second-Team All-GSC in 2021.
Prior to that, Faulk spent two collegiate seasons (2017-18) at Southwest Mississippi State, where he spent time as a receiver and defensive back.

RIDERS SIGN ALL-BIG SKY LINEBACKER KAHO’OHANOHANO-DAVIS
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American linebacker La’Akea Kaho’ohanohano-Davis.
Kaho’ohanohano-Davis (6’1-215) attended rookie camp with the Seattle Seahawks following the 2022 NFL Draft. He played five collegiate seasons (2017-21) at Southern Utah University. In 20 games, the former Thunderbird recorded 140 tackles, including 13.5 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks, one interception, three pass knockdowns, and two forced fumbles.
The Kahului, Hawaii native led the team with 57 tackles and seven sacks to earn First-Team All-Big Sky honours in 2020. He led the team in tackles for a second straight season with 73 to earn Second-Team All-Big Sky honours after the 2021 season.
