Nutrien’s year-end report released today (Thurs) says the Saskatoon-based company is adjusting the ramp up schedule for potash production, and is now expected to reach 18-million tonnes annually by 2026 instead of 2025. The report states there was a decline in the pace of potash shipments in Brazil and the United States in the second half of the year, but the demand has improved.
President and CEO, Ken Seitz says, “”The outlook for our business is strong as we expect global supply issues to persist and demand for crop inputs to increase in 2023.” Nutrien generated net earnings of $7.6-billion in 2022 because of higher fertilizer prices, which offset the reduction in fertilizer sales volumes.
