A world champion athlete is paying tribute to one of Canada most enduring national heroes on Thursday. Canadian Paralympian Tyler McGregor is visiting Echo Valley Provincial Park near Fort Qu’Appelle as part of the cross-Canada Sledge Skate of Hope. McGregor’s personal goal is to sled 42 kilometres in each province and to raise $100,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
He will be on the skating loop between 9 and 1 Thursday, and the event is free with a valid park entry permit. Sask Parks is encouraging everyone to come out, bring their skates or simply come to the skate loop and cheer him on.
