The Transportation Safety Board says a CP freight train derailed just outside the town of Chaplin at 12:20 a.m. on Monday.
As a result, 47 intermodal platforms and 95 containers derailed. No dangerous goods were involved.
Intermodal containers could otherwise be known as Sea Cans.
The TSB says there were no reported injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board deployed a team following the freight train derailment near Chaplin. As well, CP Rail dispatched crews and equipment in response to the incident.
Chaplin is about halfway between Moose Jaw and Swift Current.
