There was a carjacking in Regina on Saturday afternoon. Two people parked their vehicle in front of a business in the 300 block of Albert Street, the woman passenger got out first and when the man exited the driver side, a suspect jumped into the driver’s seat.
He reversed and tried to get away. The occupants of the car got in the way in an attempt to thwart the theft and suffered minor injuries as a result.
The suspect hit another parked car before fleeing the scene.
Police located the stolen vehicle a short distance away abandoned and running. The suspect male was located in a nearby residence and arrested without incident.
Thirty-eight-year-old Billy Peepeetch of Regina is facing a variety of charges including robbery and is in Regina court Monday.
