Meadow Lake RCMP say a woman is unaccounted for and a man has been rescued from Beaver River after a single vehicle rollover on Wednesday night. Officers responded about 7 last night (Wed) to the Beaver River bridge crossing on Highway 903, south of Pagan Lake.
An RCMP news release says it had been reported to the responding officers that a truck had driven off the bridge and was completely submerged in the river. When they arrived there was a man standing on top of the submerged vehicle. He was pulled to shore with a rope and transported to hospital, but the woman in the vehicle is unaccounted for.
Due to the water current and the depth of an estimated 9 to 10 feet, or around 3 metres, emergency crews have been unable to enter the river safely to search inside the truck. The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team has joined first responders to get the truck out of the river and assist with the ongoing search in the water.
