The province’s minister of immigration and career training is hoping Ottawa will reduce restrictions on incoming Ukrainian refugees from working in rural Saskatchewan.
Jeremy Harrison says all Ukrainian newcomers with a valid work permit are now eligible for provincial job grants and training subsidy funds.
SARM has requested the refugees be allowed better access to work in rural areas and Harrison agrees with the sentiment.
Harrison says there is a shortage of skilled workers in several areas, including agriculture.
