Fourteen charges were laid and a police vehicle was rammed when RCMP tried to stop a stolen vehicle last Thursday.
Around 7 a.m. June 29 Warman RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Range Road 3061 and determined the vehicle had been stolen from Leask the day before.
When they tried to pull it over, it didn’t stop but RCMP said it did ram one of their cruisers heavily damaging it. The officer inside suffered minor injuries.
The stolen vehicle was tracked down about 10 minutes later on Highway 12 and an arrest was made. A firearm was also seized.
Mitchell Pechawis, 32-years-old, of Mistawasis First Nation is in court today (July 5).

o 1 count, possess firearm without a license, Section 92(1), Criminal Code
o 1 count, possess firearm with tampered serial number, Section 108(2), Criminal Code
o 1 count, possess weapon contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code
