At 6:08 p.m.Thursday the Saskatchewan RCMP issued a notice that the incident in Cumberland House Cree Nation had concluded and there was no further risk to the public.

The Saskatchewan RCMP Critical Incident Response Team remained on scene and the community is to expect an increased police presence to continue with more details being released today.

A public safety alert was issued yesterday afternoon about a dangerous person with a firearm in Cumberland House Cree Nation with shots fired from a home there and a suspect on foot with what was believed to be a long-barrel firearm

The RCMP had asked residents in the community to stay inside and close and lock all doors or windows.
