Ten schools throughout Saskatchewan will receive a $10,000 grant to support student nutrition after being selected as winners for this year’s Mosaic School Nutrition Challenge.
The grants will support winning projects that have goals of implementing or expanding nutrition programs, enhancing kitchen and garden facilities along with increasing educational opportunities for students and families.
The grants also looked at projects that support reconciliation and cultural projects.
One of the winners is Lester B. Pearson School located in Saskatoon’s Pacific Heights neighbourhood. Lester B. will use their grant money to renovate their existing kitchen, implement a snack program and purchase new equipment.
