RCMP in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba are looking for a 31 year old Manitoba man with warrants for his arrest from Nipawin, Tisdale, Hudson Bay and Swan River RCMP. Matthew Barker’s charges from an incident on April 25th in Aylsham include dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and trafficking stolen property.
Nipawin RCMP report that officers tried to stop the driver of a truck in that community, but he instead fled. The next day the truck, which turned out to be stolen, was found abandoned in the RM of Bjorkdale. Officers from the Crime Reduction and the Warrant Enforcement Suppression Teams from Saskatchewan and Manitoba, along with officers from numerous detachments are looking for him, and police say he is actively evading them.
Barker is from Swan River Manitoba, but frequently travels to the Nipawin, Tisdale and Hudson Bay areas. Anyone who sees him should not approach, and instead contact the police. Police say he is armed and is considered dangerous.
Matthew Barker is described as 5’11” and approximately 250 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos on his forearms and a large tattoo on his neck.
