Grain producers in the southeast may be tired of pushing snow all winter—but many will take that extra shot of moisture in advance of seeding.
Sherri Roberts, the provincial crops extension specialist in Weyburn, says places like Estevan, Oxbow and Glenavon had a foot of snow last week, but it was much less in locations south and west of Weyburn.

Roberts was asked about seeding time in southeast Saskatchewan during an average year.
Roberts believe farmers in the southeast will stick with their original seeding plans due in large part to rising inputs costs and the potential for herbicide carryover.
