Saskatoon police arrested three people after patrol officers and the Air Support Unit worked on a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of Avenue J North early this morning (wed).
Shortly after the call came in to police, the police plane was able to locate the vehicle parked in a backyard. Officers on the ground attempted to stop the vehicle as it left and started to head north on Avenue J.
The vehicle then crashed into a raised median and wooden fence posts. The driver continued on afterwards before three people got out and attempted to flee on foot on Idylwyld Drive.
The three suspects were soon arrested. Two men ages 22 and 30 were arrested along with a 33-year-old woman. The 30-year-old man faces firearm and drug charges while the other two face firearm-related charges.
Police found a sawed-off rifle and a homemade zip gun in the vehicle while the 22-year-old man had a modified airsoft pistol.
