A public inquest into the death of Randall Nicotine will be held the week of April 25th at the Saskatoon Inn. Nicotine was 33 when he was found unresponsive in his cell at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre on May 14th of 2019.
A news release from the Justice Ministry says medical personnel responded and live saving attempts were made, but were unsuccessful. The Coroners Act states that an inquest needs to be held when an inmate dies, unless the Chief Coroner is satisfied the person’s death was entirely due to natural causes and wasn’t preventable.
