The owners of the Cabri Hotel and Bar suffered a devastating blow to their business this past weekend. The 110-year-old hotel in Cabri, 66 kilometres northwest of Swift Current, was levelled by fire.
The owners posted on social media that they had taken over the hotel in January 2020 and two months later the COVID-19 pandemic hit bringing business to an all time low. But they said they had the support of the community then and again when the building caught fire after they had finished working a busy night.
” We are so grateful for the amazing love and support from our strong Cabri community. Special thanks to all the firefighters, community members, and especially Wendy Johnson who has been with us from the time it happened until now.”
Some nearby buildings also suffered minor damage. The hotel was built in 1912.
