So far the only candidate who has officially declared he is running to be leader of the Conservative party is Pierre Poilievre. He stopped in Saskatoon on Thursday and is in Regina today (Fri). Poilievre says if elected as leader of the party and then as Prime Minister, he will repeal the carbon tax.
He suggests potential candidate and former Quebec Premier, Jean Charest, supports higher taxes on consumers, explaining that as Liberal Premier, Charest increased the sales tax by two percentage points, and he increased the fuel tax. Poilievre is hosting what he calls a freedom rally tonight in Regina for Conservative party members. (CKRM)
