Reporting of COVID-19 case numbers will resume tomorrow in Saskatchewan. In the meantime, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at James L. Alexander School in Saskatoon.
The SHA is investigating probable cases of the Omicron variant connected to James L. Alexander School.
Since school started September 1, the SHA has confirmed five cases of COVID-19 connected to the school. However, only one of those cases has been confirmed in December.
This school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has been notified of 372 positive cases at 57 schools in the division. Students are currently on their Christmas break and are back in class January 4th.
On Boxing Day, Quebec reported about 8-thousand new COVID-19 cases and three more deaths.
Yesterday, Quebec instituted gathering limits. For indoors, gatherings are capped at six people and outdoors the number is 20 people.
In Ontario they reported more than 98-hundred new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Nova Scotia has had more than 11-hundred cases of COVID-19 confirmed over the weekend.
