The Saskatchewan RCMP says in a news release that more alleged victims have come forward since a 60 year old man was arrested in September and charged with sexual assault. This is in connection to a woman reporting to the Saskatoon Police Service in April that she had been sexually assaulted.
After an investigation, Cecil Wolfe was charged, and now six additional counts of sexual assault have been laid, one under Saskatoon Police Service jurisdiction and five from RCMP jurisdiction in the communities of Loon Lake and Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. Police were told Wolfe was working under the pretext of being a traditional healer or medicine man.
Investigators believe there may be more alleged victims from the past twenty years in the communities of Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatoon and surrounding areas. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police. Wolfe’s next court date is January 17th.
