A Kindersley woman has been sentenced to six years for killing her newborn daughter. Teenie Rose Steer was originally charged with second-degree murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year. In September of 2018, Kindersley RCMP responded to a home about a one-month old baby girl in cardiac arrest. Emergency crews arrived but the child didn’t survive. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit took over the case as the lead investigators believed the death was suspicious. Around 17 months later, Steer was charged. The 30 year-old will serve around three years and four months as she was given credit for time spent on remand.
