It’s all about the sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but tomorrow (Tues) is all about donating your time or money. Manager of Philanthropy at the YMCA of Saskatoon, Serena Dallas, says Giving Tuesday is a chance to show support for communities, charities and non-profits. Funds raised on Tuesday directed to Saskatoon’s YMCA will go towards its Strong Kids campaign, giving children and families access to community programs, who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

Dallas notes that since the pandemic began, it has become even more challenging to make ends meet, and costs are rising. She hopes that everyone will recognize Giving Tuesday in some way, whether it’s through donations to the YMCA or some other non-profit that is meaningful to them or through volunteering. The YMCA of Saskatoon offers services ranging from fitness and health to swimming and camping, child care, leadership training and international development.
