An information technology company says with some people working from home and others using a hybrid model because of the pandemic, cybersecurity has become a major concern.
CDW Canada conducted a survey recently and found that 67 per cent of working Canadians say data leakage, and identity theft and/or hackers are their top cyber concerns.
Sixty-six per cent cite malware and 58 per cent believe phishing scams are their top concerns across all devices.
CDW says in a news release that despite their being an uptick in cyberattacks over the course of the pandemic, only 51 per cent of respondents indicated their organization had prepared employees with security educatiion prior to the remote transition.
Forty-one per cent of Canadians review their cybersecurity and privacy settings on their personal devices once a year or less and 26 per cent rarely or never review them, because they haven’t thought about it or don’t know how.
