A Thursday, supper hour, two-vehicle collision near Swift Current resulted in one man being taken to hospital in Saskatoon with serious injuries.
Swift Current Rural R-C-M-P responded to the accident at around 6 p.m. on September 2 on Highway 363 in the R-M of Swift Current. The initial findings of the police investigation determined a lone male from Regina was changing a tire on a car when he was struck by a grain truck driving on the same highway. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident. The Regina man with the car was taken to hospital in Saskatoon with serious injuries while the driver of the grain truck did not report any injuries. The Swift Current Rural R-C-M-P investigation continues with assistance from the R-C-M-P’s Collision Reconstruction Unit, General Investigation Section and the Foresnic Identification Services.
