The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas have targeted the George Genereux Urban Regional Park as their next Clean Community Scene spruce up.
The non-profit organization will be on site restoring the trails and cleaning up garbage and debris Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Spokesperson Julia Adamson says equipment such as reachers, gloves and bug spray will be provided for all volunteers.
“It’s always so rewarding to see the forest go from a place with garbage, and look at the before and after pictures. It just gives you a sense of accomplishment and pride that a forest can become a urban regional park, with just a little community effort.”

Access to the park is just west of Highway 7 near the 11th street compost depot.
