The Canadian Border Services Agency has made its largest seizure of methamphetamine at a land border crossing on record across Canada.
It happened Christmas Day at the Coutts, Alberta border crossing southeast of Lethbridge when a semi hauling produce was sent for further inspection.
The CBSA says their officers uncovered 228.14 kilogram of methamphetamine with an estimated street value $28.5 million. Border Services say that amount of meth translates into 2.28 million individual doses.
RCMP have charged Amarpreet Singh Sandhu, 38 years old, of Calgary with Importation of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He is back in court on February 11th.
