You may have noticed videos circulating on social media of a tribute involving many police officers lined up in their vehicles, on Saskatoon roads this weekend.
The Saskatoon Police say they were paying tribute to one of their own. They confirm the passing of Constable Christine Talloden following a courageous battle with cancer.
Saskatoon Police say Talloden has been a part of the police service for the past 13 years and leaves behind a young son. Police Chief Troy Cooper says Talloden was an outstanding and dedicated police officer and a cherished colleague to many. He offered deepest sympathies to her family and continued support to them in the days, weeks and months to come.
On a social media post the Saskatoon Police said “Rest peacefully, Christine. We’ve got it from here.”
The lowering of the flags at Police HQ last night for one of our officers who had bravely been fighting cancer. We are thinking of her family, friends, and co-workers. Rest easy, we’ll take it from here. #yxe pic.twitter.com/E3eE6cHGqJ
