Mayoral Candidate Don Atchison spoke at his final news conference Friday before the civic election on Monday.

Atchison says running for mayor is not an entry level position, and it’s not the same as running for a political party.  He says council needs guidance from a proven mayor, after what he calls a bleak and dismal record over the past 4 years.

Atchison states more work needs to be done to retain headquarters of all types in the city, he points to BHP, Nutrien and Cameco as examples of business that needs to stay in Saskatoon. Atchison says this election sets a chart for the future for Saskatoon families and that he is more convinced than ever, that he offers the best platform for the citizens of Saskatoon. Atchison states that his views on major issues such as support for policing, bus rapid transit and the proposed new library have not changed.

Atchison concluded by saying Saskatoon has tremendous potential, and the city can be a leader in modern policing, public safety, affordable housing, attracting major corporations while supporting local business to create better more sustainable job opportunities.
