The Saskatchewan NDP have released their full slate of candidates for the upcoming provincial election on October 26th.
The NDP say their slate includes representation of 46 percent women and 23 percent Indigenous candidates.
New Democratic Party Leader Ryan Meili says he is tremendously proud to be running shoulder to shoulder with such wonderful and diverse candidates, all dedicated to making life better for the people of Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan NDP named the final 12 candidates to complete the slate of 61. The new candidates are:
- Steve Allen, Kindersley
- Twyla Harris, Biggar – Sask. Valley
- Harmonie King, Meadow Lake
- Seth Lendrum, Estevan
- Nic Lewis, Lumsden – Morse
- Kaitlyn Harvey, Saskatoon Willowgrove
- Regan Lanning, Weyburn – Big Muddy
- Carter Antoine, Yorkton
- Matt Fedler, Cutknife – Turtleford
- Diane Twietmeyer, Cannington
- Trina Miller, Rosthern – Shellbrook
- Roger Morgan, Wood River
In total there are 14 teachers on the slate.
Candidate Disclosure
NDP candidates have also provided full disclosure on previous criminal convictions. These convictions consist of:
- Carter Antoine: Impaired driving, 2017
- Bhajan Brar: Dangerous driving causing bodily harm, 2011
- Ken Burton: Impaired driving, 1973
- Bonnie Galenzowski: Impaired driving, 1982
- Rod McCorriston: Impaired driving, 1980
- Lyle Whitefish: Impaired driving, 2011
