Individuals who are found flying a remote controlled aircraft or drones over City property could be fined up to $2,000 or up to $5,000 for a corporation.
Saskatoon City Council passed a bylaw Monday stating that “No person shall fly a remotely piloted aircraft in, on or above property owned by the city, or leased by the city, or under the jurisdiction and control of the city, except as permitted by the city.”
Residents can still fly drones or remote controlled aircrafts over City property, if they have received permission from the City of Saskatoon to do so.
The bylaw is already in effect.
