Beaumont RCMP in Alberta are investigating a truck theft where 2 children were in the truck at the time. Beaumont is south of Edmonton. RCMP say around 9:35 a.m. last Sunday, officers responded to a 911 call that a truck that had been idling with 2 children inside, 7 and 9 years old, had been stolen.

Less than 10 minutes later the truck was found abandoned on a road on the outskirts of Beaumont. The suspect fled on foot. The children weren’t injured and made it safely home.

Police Dog Services attended the scene, but the suspect wasn’t found. The RCMP are continuing their investigation. The picture with this story is a composite image of the suspect.
