The Federation of Canadian Municipalities has assembled a group of municipal leaders from western Canada and beyond, to address the economic downturn in the west and the lack of unity in the country.

FCM President Bill Karsten says, “When federal or provincial policies leave us feeling at odds with our fellow Canadians, municipal leaders are able to step beyond the politics to share solutions”.

The FCM has already called on the federal government to support energy infrastructure projects and projects that support a responsible transition to renewable energies. The new task force is being chaired by Yorkton Councillor, Randy Goulden.
