A Saskatchewan nurse who was the first to arrive at the Humboldt Broncos bus crash says not a day goes by that she doesn’t think about the accident.
Vivian York lives just a few kilometres from the crash site and drives by it every day on her way to work.
She says she struggled after the accident and wondered if there was anything more she could have done.
She says she regrets not having more time with each person she tried to help that day.
Sixteen people were killed and 13 were injured with the Broncos hockey bus and a semi-truck carrying peat moss collided at an intersection on April 6th, 2018.
York says she didn’t realize how bad it was until she saw multiple bodies and blond hair everywhere team members had dyed their hair for the playoffs.
York, who is 59, says she intends to retire from nursing soon and hopes to become a counsellor.
