Saskatchewan Health Minister Jim Reiter has issued a statement saying, “I am concerned with the recent incidents of vaping-related illnesses, as well as the high rates of vaping we are seeing among Saskatchewan youth.” Pulmonary illnesses associated with vaping have been reported in Ontario and in the United States. As a result, Reiter say he has instructed public health officials to monitor all cases as they show up in intensive care units. He is also asking parents to speak to their children about the risks associated with vaping. Anyone who has questions about non-severe symptoms related to vaping should call the Healthline at 8-1-1 or talk to their health care provider.
