Just after 9 Friday night, Saskatoon Police received a call to check on the welfare of a male in the 200 block of Herold Terrace.
Once officers arrived, they realized the man was displaying symptoms of psychosis. When officers attempted to take him into custody to seek medical attention, he became aggressive and injured both of the officers.
A CEW, commonly referred to as a taser was deployed, although it had no affect. Police say it took an additional three officers to arrive at the scene before the man was taken into custody.
The male was taken to hospital and both officers received minor injuries. One was treated on scene by Medavie Health Services.
The 25 year-old man is facing two charges of assault of a police officer.
