Sask Polytech’s associate vice-president of Applied Research and Innovation, has been appointed to the National Research Council Canada.
NRC is Canada’s largest federal research and development organization and Sask Polytech’s president and CEO says Dr. Susan Blum will play an important part in providing strategic guidance in the areas of applied research.
Applied research is a collaborative effort at Sask Polytech which is used to help industries adapt to technological advances, respond to changing needs and contribute to creating a stable economy.
Dr. Blum points out that research, including applied research, conducted at the NRC, plays a key role in generating new ideas and supporting innovation in transportation, manufacturing, engineering, life sciences as well as digital and emerging technologies.
She has been the associate vice-president of Applied Research and Innovation at Saskatchewan Polytechnic since 2016.
