Another successful 4-H Finished Beef Sale at Saskatoon Prairieland Park on Monday evening.
Eighty-seven steers from nine 4-H clubs went through the sales ring with buyers making premium bids.
The Grand Champion Steer was exhibited by Cade Bartel from Watrous, a member of the Carlton Trail 4-H Beef Club. The 1,372 pound Grand Champion Steer attracted a top bid of $7 a pound from Tim Hortons, Saskatoon and Success RV from Watrous.
The Reserve Grand Champion Steer was exhibited by Colby Wignes from Viscount. Wignes, a member of the Viscount 4-H Beef Club, received $2.75 a pound for his steer. The buyer was Prairie Meats of Saskatoon.
CJWW Radio continued as a long-time supporter of 4-H by purchasing a steer from Alexandra Johnson from Perdue, a member of the Catherwood 4-H Beef Club.
The overall sales average was $2.77 per pound.
The Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Market Lambs were also auctioned.
Norheim Ranching of Saskatoon paid $1,100 for the Grand Champion Lamb exhibited by Addison Pain of the Medstead Multiple 4-H Club.
The Reserve Champion Market Lamb exhibited by Maria-Ray McNabb of the Medstead Multiple 4-H Club sold for $550 to Smokehouse Meats.
