Say yes to the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion and make it a pipeline to reconciliation. That’s the suggestion from former Thunderchild First Nation Chief Delbert Wapass, who is now the executive chair and founder of Project Reconciliation.
It’s a First Nations-led initiative where Indigenous communities in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan have been invited to collectively buy a majority stake in the Trans Mountain pipeline. The first step, Wapass says, is for the pipeline project to be approved tomorrow (Tues) by the Senate and then step two is making sure Indigenous Peoples are represented among eventual buyers.
